1953 Top Shelf Chevy
1965 Mustang Fastback
This luxurious blast from the past sports all-original paint and details, carefully massaged back to perfection by the wizards at RK.
Every line and angle on this truck was designed and hammered into existence under the skilled hands of the RK craftsmen. What began as a '53 Chevrolet became a frame-up custom starting with an Art Morrison frame and finishing with the beautiful and unusual Rainforest Green laid on by master painter Charley Hutton.
The engine is a 540ci Dart powerplant done by Gary Stevenson at Engine Research and Development utilizing an Eagle 4340 crank and rods topped with Diamond Racing Pistons. RK created custom valve covers that dress up Dart Pro 1 heads. The Supercharged engine is fed by a BDS fuel-injection system and cranks around 1,100 hp on the dyno.
The sheetmetal work is all RK. Robert wanted a very fluid appearance, so emblems, badges, handles, mirrors, wipers, driprails and all had to go. The hood seam was raised to follow the beltline, both bumpers eliminated and the headlights frenched. Runningboards were created to keep with the lines. The bed is handcrafted from steel and is a piece of art unto itself, created over a wooden frame. The tailgate is angled to keep the flow going right through the rollpan. LED taillights, a frenched license plate, and the frenched screened panel for the exhaust complete the look.
The interior is just as amazing, with the shape of the dash harking back to the '53's roots -- however no '53 ever had the swoop and style of the Top Shelf's version. Classic Instruments gauges and custom leatherwork by Gabe's Custom Interiors complete this incredible package.

The chromed 347 Stroker Motor under the hood of this hot red speedster lets people know that what is coming down the road isn't your typical old-school 'Stang. RK also upgraded the package to disc brakes and a 9" 411 rear end.
The grill is custom RK as is the trunk treatment.
Purchased new by Robert K. who put 105,000 miles on it, then parked it for 15 years. Deciding it was time to teach the old girl a few new tricks, RK pulled off the dust cover, removed the motor and had it balanced and blueprinted and the tranny updated. The interior (except seats) is all original, as are all the stainless parts. All bronze-colored parts have been chromed and a new set of wheels installed.
